Steps to Life Bible, Health and Literature Evangelist Training School Report

'The Training School Was Beyond Expectation!!'

The inspiration was gained, knowledge imparted, spiritual insights internalized, a totally plant based diet modeled and enjoyed, skills practiced, lives changed, baptisms requested, testimonies shared, confidence gained and personal plans for evangelism shaped.

Thirty seven participants from across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria came to Launching Place, Victoria from September 11 to 24, 2011 for a spirit filled training school to learn how to use their God given talents as modern day disciples in the communities they call home and beyond. When asked how the training school met their expectations they overwhelmingly said the training school exceeded their expectations, which were high to start with.

The Training School was a new type of venture in faith for STL. We conceived, hosted and organized the Training School in response to the stated needs of folks who attend the three weekend spiritual enrichment seminars run by STL each year in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and some country locations in between. Dwayne and Alexandra Lemon were asked to be the instructors giving up three weeks of their very busy schedule. Dwayne shared his understanding from the Bible and the pertinent books of Ellen White on how to effectively combine Bible study with health/lifestyle education and literature evangelism in a way that grows local churches.

Thirty seven people returned home from the STL Training School with a better understanding and a real desire to share the gospel embodied in the Three Angels Messages of Revelation 12:6-12. The culmination and one the highlights of the STL Training School, was the three part presentation by Bro. Dwayne on the last Sabbath afternoon of the Training School. It was entitled Revival and Reformation. A graduation of the participants took place during the Sabbath evening program.

Content covered in the Training School included - How to Study the Bible; Heath/Life Style Education - Christ the Great Healer, What It Is, SDA History and the Health Work, Counterfeit Forms of Heath/Life Style Education, An Inspired Solution for an Inspired Problem; The Role of Prayer, Faith and the Holy Spirit in Heath/Life Style Education; Canvassing Work and Heath/Life Style Education; The Creator's Master Piece - Anatomy and Physiology; Understanding Disease; Inspired Modalities (Hydro therapy, massage, herbs, and food); Understanding Food; Food Preparation Demonstrations; Understanding Herbs; Hydrotherapy; Dealing with Depression Naturally (An three part introduction and overview of the Dr Neil Nedley Depression Recovery Program by Brian and Carolyn Way); Health, Hope and Healing (Evangelism Through Health Seminars, Turning Health Consultation Into Bible Study)

As part of the training all participants presented either a morning or evening worship. During the evenings and on the first Sabbath they all took part in the planning and presentation of a full scale simulation of a community outreach program. For many, these experiences to share their personal faith publicly were a first. Telling of what God had done for them and drawing from scripture spiritual lessons often illustrated by personal testimony was a real deep spiritual learning experience for everyone. Most of the participants arrived at the STL Training School as strangers to each other. They each went home having found kindred spirits of like faith and commitment.

STL would like to sincerely and publicly thank the Lemon family for providing the instruction, the participants for the way they embraced the Training School, the faithful STL supporters whose donations, offerings and purchases helped defray the expense of bringing the six members of the Lemon family all the way to Launching Place, Australia and most of all our Heavenly Father who answered many of our prayers asking for the resources to be made available to meet the very large investment STL made in faith to hold the Training School.

The STL Training Program would not have been possible if it wasn't for the faithful prayer and financial support of folks like you who receive our Newsletter. STL is one of a few on shore ministries in Australia which work to ground folks in the faith of the end time church. Our Training Program was an example of this. With your help we can do great things for God.

STEPS TO LIFE IS RESTRUCTURING, WE ARE NOT CLOSING !!

We have had several people say to us that they have heard we are closing. This is not correct. The focus of our activity is being sharpened and while we still will be able to undertake studio filming it will be in one studio using multiple sets.

The story has probably arisen because we advertised equipment, sets pieces and no longer needed furniture which has been sitting for a number of years. And needs to be rolled over to freshen up our in studio filming.

We are closing studio 2 and are now rebuilding studio 1 making it multi functional for the purpose of filming and for conducting the health outreach that we have moved strongly into this year. We will be doing more on location filming. The equipment that we purchased to do this with was trialed most successfully at the Steps to Life Bible, Health and Literature Evangelism Training School and we are now ready to take on more assignments of this nature.

Much of the cost of the restructure and updated equipment will be funded from the sale of what we don't need. If you would like to find out what we have left give Cherryl a call. It will also save us the on going rent for one studio factory each year.

In terms of filming and health evangelism this year has been the busiest one yet and next year's calendar is filling up fast. The STL Resource Centre, is now better situated near the entrance and has more shelf space.

Steps to Life is not closing, we are refocusing and sharpening. Stay in contact as we begin to roll out the 2012 STL Program.
