Pastor Hal Mayer's July 8 to 10 Seminar in Sydney

As you probably know by now Steps to Life is sponsoring Pastor Hal Mayer to Australia to present a seminar entitled An Incredible Cloud of Witnesses. It's a close look at the lessons we can learn from the past in the setting of present world events and end time Bible prophecy. It's easy for social, political and religious events to come and go without us really recognizing what meaning they should have for us. Pastor Hal is both a student of salvation history and a close analyst of current events. He is uniquely placed to present this seminar.

In 1909 Ellen White was saying Great changes are soon to take place in our world, and the final movements will be rapid ones. (9T 11). That's over a hundred year ago now. Both the apostles Peter and Paul said that for many Jesus' second coming would be as a thief in the night (1 Thess. 5:2, 2 Pet 3: 10) We need to understand as much as we can about the events around us. Properly understood they should quicken our Christian resolve to both be right with Jesus and to help others understand the impeding crisis and the ultimate triumph of Jesus' second coming. For these reasons, please invite your friends within and without the church to Pastor Hal's seminar

The title of the program could well be - What did Protestants protest about? Are there still grounds to keep the protest going? It will be a helpful program for Protestants of other faiths who are wondering why their churches have moved so far from their original positions. If you know of such folk, please invite them. The weather's cold. Thornleigh Uniting Church will be heated and there will be lunch space in the hall for the Sabbath program. Friday evening's meeting commences at 7.00 pm so that we don't keep you out too late.

Just a reminder that if you want to attend. Kaye and Peter's August seminar you will need to book, preferably early. Their May seminar was totally booked out and some folks who did not book had to be turned away on the day. Second Dr Neil Nedley Depression Recovery Program for 2011 Starts 8th August at STL in Lilydale.

It's a nine week program and takes participants through Dr Neil Nedley's Depression Recovery pathway. It's for anyone who is impacted by depression, wants to protect themselves against depression or wants to be able to help someone impacted by depression. Bookings are essential. Dwayne and Alexandra Lemon's Bible, Health Evangelism Workers Course - September 11 to 25.

This two week training program will be held at Launching Place, Victoria. It will prepare participants for effective personal witnessing. Live in and off campus registrations are available. The Friday evening and Saturday of the program will be held at the Karralyka Theatre, Ringwood and will be open to everyone. If you can't attend the training school you will have the opportunity to hear Dwayne speak on his favourite topic of 'City Mission'. Places are fast running out so book now.

There is Either Complacency or Widespread Apprehension about the Future.

Discerning thinkers see the chaos all round us. They sense that things are not like they used to be. Political leaders try and offer hopeful solutions but must despair as challenge follows challenge in all spheres of life on planet Earth. Many just bury their heads in the sand of entertainment and sport. It'll be ok mate! Have another beer and the world will go on. (See PK 537). There is either complacency or widespread apprehension about the future. There needs to be the knowledge that God is in control and a focusing on Christ who promises to be with us in the predicted crisis. Which group do we fit in to?
