The Perfect Prayer: The purpose of prayer is to unite man with God. Since a prayer life cannot be transferred to another, Jesus did the only thing possible—He gave His disciples the form of a model prayer. Jesus intended it only as a model or pattern to guide them in making their requests known to God. It contains seven separate petitions—symbolizing its completeness and perfection.

The Beatitudes: The Sermon on the Mount was the greatest ever listened to by mortal man. While the Sermon on the Mount is a summary of the Bible, the Beatitudes constitute a summary or prologue of the Sermon on the Mount. Like the Decalogue and the Lord’s Prayer, they are of universal application and appeal, and apply to all races of all ages. The eight beatitudes constitute a spiritual ladder containing the natural and logical steps in spiritual growth and development that take us into the kingdom of God.
