The Story of the Stroke a Chord Choir
(Alli Spoor - 141 pages)
"Not long ago I head of a choir in Melbourne for people who had suffered a stroke and although they could not speak, they could sing beautifully.
In time they began to discover their speech again. They spoke of getting their lives back, of overcoming the loss and grief they had experienced through losing their independence, their work, their mobility, their confidence and their sense of self."
Between laughter and tears, these stroke survivors have found a place where they belong, where they can be themselves without judgement and celebrate the joy of living.
