In the 1980’s the Millen’s were a young Adventist family living in Communist Bulgaria. Ivanka was mother to two young boys – Samuel and Emanuel. Life was difficult. Religious freedom was very limited. God had led them to become Adventists in a Communist world. He led Nikolai to become the ‘preacher’ for a small Adventist congregation.
When Samuel, their eldest child went to school, the other children were told by the teacher not to play with him.
What could they do to raise their children as Christians and Adventists? Escape to where there was religious freedom. But how could they do this?
